Axima Services takes home an AQME Énergia prize
The plan for optimizing operations at 1000 De La Gauchetière generates continual energy savings of more than $250,000with no added investment!
Axima Services was awarded the prize on November 9th at the 16th annual Énergia gala of the Association québécoise pour la maîtrise de l'énergie (AQME). The prestigious award was given for the optimization of operations at 1000 De La Gauchetière, a downtown Montreal office building owned and managed by local real estate stakeholder SITQ.
The program implemented by Axima Services is made up of various measures designed to eliminate waste, optimize the operation of existing installations and utilize resources wisely. "The success of this initiative is due to the continuous involvement and motivation of the entire team responsible for operating the buildingthey’re the real core of the program, explained François Dépelteau, CEO of Axima Services. Our approach doesn’t involve replacing any equipment and is just a natural extension of sound practices," he added.
The process allows SITQ to keep its operating expense rate down in spite of the rapid growth in energy costs, clarifies Guy Lamarre, General Director, Real Estate Management, SITQ. Beyond that, the initiative fits in perfectly with the Go Green accredited building management approach that SITQ uses to promote environmentally friendly practices in the way its buildings are operated.
Convincing results
The program’s mission was bold: Reduce the cost of energy spending by $100,000in the first year. That said, the results left the objective far behind. In fact, the reduction in energy consumption attained 15%, which translates into a total savings of $268,713 on the energy bill.
