Classique SITQ 2009: $105,500 for sick kids

The 18th annual Classique SITQ benefit golf tournament was held June 16 at the Le Blainvillier country club, in Blainville. The event, honorary chaired by SITQ Vice President for Québec Guy Lamarre, raised $105,500 for five organizations that work with sick children: Fondation des Jumelles Coudé, Canadian Liver Foundation, Fondation centre de cancérologie Charles-Bruneau, The Lighthouse, Children & Families, and The Diabetic Children’s Foundation.

“We understand times are tough, but we wanted to hold the event nevertheless, because children’s diseases don’t slow down simply because the economy does,” said Mr. Lamarre. “Our partners, suppliers and collaborators answered the call, and we were once again able to provide funding to the organizations La Classique SITQ supports.”

Each year, La Classique SITQ attracts participants from all over the real estate community. The 2009 edition drew 300 golfers from Québec, Ontario, Alberta and the U.S. In nine years, the event has raised over
$1.8 million for organizations working with sick children.
