The building's certification by the USGBC recognizes One Boston Place as the highest rated LEED EB building in Boston and the first building in the world to earn LEED EB: O&M Gold. Since the building was acquired by TIAA-CREF and SITQ in 2002, the building's water consumption has been reduced by 12,000,000 gallons per year or approximately 50% while the building's energy-related carbon footprint has been reduced by 3,000 tons per year or approximately 67%.
